ARTIST STATEMENT
Kiddie Riders is a series of 3 short videos: Ice Cream, Hotdog & Lollipop, in which I explore that crux of childhood innocence and emerging sexual desires plus the feelings that arise with it’s recollection. These three shorts expose the feelings associated with childhood innocence and the eminent dissection of our most intimate relationships. The individual works form a cohesive whole--a voyeuristic ode to sensual discovery.
The humour, the discomfort, the excitement, and the bizarreness.

THE KIDDIE RIDERS EXPERIENCE

For the event Alina Landry Rancier will create a space where the public can interact with a series of environments and props inspired directly from the short films.

There will be a Photo/Gif Booth setup with a a kiddie ride.

Separately we will have a small video setup where our guests will be invited eating Kiddie Rider Logo chocolate bars for a video piece to be edited afterwards.

The artist’s intention is to allow the public to be the performer and become part of the pieces. Collectively we will create a series of new performance and video art (through video documentation of these spontaneous performances) that will itself form part of the Kiddie Riders universe.

We will serve hotdogs by Lower East Side’s missed late night spot LOS PERROS LOCOS plus ice cream sandwiches from GRAMWICH!
